Knoll Ridge Café Situated on the Edge of New Zealand’s Largest Active Volcano</p>
<p>This cafe by Harris Butt Architecture is perched on the side of an active volcano in New Zealand’s oldest national park. Also located beside a ski resort, Knoll Ridge Cafe is built to withstand sub-zero temperatures, wind speeds of up to 125 miles per hour and heavy snowfall in the winter season. Despite its heavy-duty specification, the building had to be constructed from prefabricated modules light enough to be carried to the site and assembled by a helicopter.</p>

Juga terletak di samping sebuah resor ski, Knoll Cafe Ridge dibangun untuk menahan suhu di bawah nol, kecepatan angin mencapai 125 mil per jam dan hujan salju berat di musim dingin. Meski tugas berat spesifikasinya, bangunan harus dibangun dari cahaya modul prefabrikasi cukup untuk dibawa ke situs tersebut dan dirakit oleh helikopter.”

<p>Designed to face an uninterrupted landscape exposed through large glass doors and windows, the Lima Residence in Calabasas, California, focuses on providing its inhabitants with spacious social and private spaces to enjoy alongside family and fiends. Rectangle-shaped, the structure of this 4,500 square foot modern house was designed by California-based studio Abramson Teiger Architects as two units separated by a courtyard – the main house and garage on one side, and the guest house on the other. Rising two stories in the air, the Lima Residence provokes the eye with 14 foot high ceilings displayed in the main social space.</p>

<p>Reiulf Ramstad Architects have completed a winding concrete ramp to facilitate walking from the roadside down to the seaside in Havøysund, Norway. The objective is quite simply to single out and magnify the experience of walking from the roadside down to the seaside at this very special place. Therefore a chief concern was to slow down this movement and make the path itself a means of refocusing the experiential mode: a measured, restrained approach that creates awareness.</p>
